About the SiteThis site was launched on September 1st 2001, as a satellite site (try saying that quickly ;) of the Artificial Intelligence Depot. A lot of the initial effort went into designing a custom database, intuitive and powerfull along with its web interface. This will allow a lot of flexibility over other commercial directory scripts, and this will reflect in the near future. It is maintained by Alex J. Champandard, a fanatic of Neural Networks in all respects, but especially with regards to their application to robotics controllers. He has taken a module in Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition at the University of York, which means his accademic knowledge of the field is upto date. Alex has also written the article The Dark Art of Neural Networks, soon to be published in the book "AI Wisdom". In his spare time, he has also created a FPS bot based on Artificial Neural Networks. The site is updated regularly, with full link checks to warn you of stale content. New features are planned, and will be implemented as the site grows in popularity. Feel free to let us know your ideas! The initial database has taken countless hours of surfing and spidering to populate. Each item is currently being hand-reviewed, and rated. Help us keep the database upto date by letting us know when you move your site! If you have any questions, comments or ideas, feel free to visit the Message Area.
